Doing Our Part — Green Computing
For over a decade, we have worked very hard to improve the environment through Green IT. Our systems are engineered to reduce the amount of paper use by making electronic data transfer simple and easy. In addition, by using Cloud Computing, we are continuing to reduce the amount of computer hardware required to produce our online products. Currently, we are running
a 10:1 computing reduction ratio and we are continuing to work hard to further improve our contribution. Cloud Computing reduces the impact on our environment. Regarding energy consumption, we use fewer computers (drastically reducing cooling needs) and consume about 80% less server power than our competitors. And with virtualization (multiple servers in one), we use even fewer physical resources, so the “embedded energy” of the hardware is even less!
We Help You Reduce Paper Usage
As an organization, we do the majority of our office processes paperless. We encourage all of our customers to reduce the amount of paper use by utilizing our systems instead of faxing or printing reports. Finally, we offer custom printable registration card and receipts, which only prints when needed; thus reducing the amount of preprinted paper.

What is Green Computing?
Green computing or green IT, refers to environmentally sustainable computing or IT. It is "...the study and practice of designing, manufacturing, using, and disposing of computers, servers, and associated subsystems—such as monitors, printers, storage devices, and networking and communications systems—efficiently and effectively with minimal or no impact on the environment. Green IT also strives to achieve economic viability and improved system performance and use, while abiding by our social and ethical responsibilities. Thus, green IT includes the dimensions of environmental sustainability, the economics of energy efficiency, and the total cost of
ownership, which includes the cost of disposal and recycling, is the
study and practice of using computing resources efficiently."
San Murugesan, “Harnessing Green IT: Principles and Practices,”
IEEE IT Professional, January-February 2008, pp 24-33.
